I love the Iron Chef Challenge, sounds like a lot of fun. Also like the bike crawl in Chicago, could be a real interesting evening. Great & unique suggestions on coming together & creating that team atmosphere.

Improv (improvisation) as an acting tool would also be valuable in the business workplace. People need to be able to think quickly and turn on a dime. Having improv classes would definitely help in generating creativity and quick responses. This is a great team building tool as Rosita points out.

This an excellent point. I know that most companies care is about how to show appreciation to their clients, but only few take this date as an opportunity to thank their employees. I personally believe employees should be the main driven force of any organization - and what a better occasion to show how much a company is thankful for the value of its employees.

I agree completely. Having a party should be cause for celebration but its also a great opportunity to get together to support those less fortunate in a land where so many of us have so much. A colleage at my charity has a Christmas party drop in where everyone is asked to bring a monetary donation to buy a goat via World Vision. Last year they bought 11 goats which cost $1,100. Check out his creative invitation www.gottabuyagoat.com

Your story reminded me of the movie Mean Girls which I watched with my daughters. At the end of the movie, there is a reconciliation among fighting, bullying teen girls. Everyone has to apologize for their wrongdoings then fall backwards into the waiting hands of their peers. This works fine until someone apologizes for all the hurt she has caused, but adds more salt to the wounds by being too brutally honest. When she lets go, the crowd of girls seperate and she falls three feet on her back onto a cold gym floor. I think the lesson there is that teamwork and honesty are important but to be diplomatic you can't be too honest or frank when you know it may hurt someone's feelings or get too personal. With mutual respect comes trust, and when you have trust you can truly be a team.

What a unique idea!!! An interesting way to bring people together. Working for a very male dominant company & industry I'm not sure if this would be well received. Although, I would love to watch our sales team attend a yoga session, just for the entertainment alone.

I think that is a wonderful idea for a corporation to send its workers to a yoga clinic in the vineyard. People here at my job are way too stressed out and takes themselves way too seriously. Getting some fresh air in the country, a little exercise, meditation and wine. It doesn't get much better than that!

Great post!! More companies should take a lead from Cumis. I recently read an article on a "Eco Taxi" firm in Toronto, their fleet consists of Toyata Priumus taxi's. Each taxi emitted 50% carbon dioxide than the standard ones. They are working towards joining with global partners to create a "green transfer" network. You are right, Earth Day is everyday.
