HBR Improv Workshop

This company came together to discuss their five year plan, and wanted input from their whole team. To foster a supportive brainstorming environment, they incorporated some of the basic tenets of our Improv Workshop, focusing on the 'Yes, and...' rule.

Boston Consulting Group Retreat

Location: Boston Consulting Group Office

Synopsis:
This well established consulting group hosted a weekend retreat for the employees and their families. The goal was to get members of the support team working together and having fun before treating everyone to a weekend in Lake Geneva. Teams were challenged to build the perfect airplane, solve a riddle, and build the tallest tower - using limited supplies.

What Einstein Might Think of Your Team

Synopsis:
With only 5 days before their workshop, major pharmaceutical company requested an interactive and customized workshop to get their team thinking about innovation and how it is established and built upon as a team. CEI was able to secure a facilitator with just the right workshop available, “What Einstein Might Think About Your Team.” The client was thrilled and the workshop was very well received by the attendees.

Kiewit Conference Kick-off

Synopsis:
Corporate Event Interactive provided key, high level employees of this construction and mining organization with a team building program designed to get them focused on looking at problems strategically prior to engaging in the required activity. Through the use of the "Planks" puzzle and other exercises employees were able to start their conference with a fresh perspective on how the group solves problems.

Bike Building and Great Race Adventure Hunt

Location: Q-Center

Client: The Claro Group

Synopsis:
The Claro Group hired Corporate Event Interactive for a full day, interactive learning experience for their annual retreat. Programming included a Bike Building Workshop with teams building bikes for a local Boys & Girls Club and a Great Race experience where teams solved riddle and puzzle clues and explored the grounds of the Q-Center. Most importantly, however, CEI was called upon to add experiential learning components both in the morning, focused on building better teams, and in the afternoon focused on building better relationships. Tim Buividas was CEI's lead facilitator for this component of the project which included a review of related concepts, discussion questions, team presentations, small and large group debriefs and an "action" statement that participants made for after the retreat.

Journey

Location: Various Northern IL and WI locations

Client: Sensei International

Synopsis:
As part of their three-day Journey with Unilever, Sensei International tapped CEI to help create a fun, interactive itinerary between workshops. The group of 28 got to experience organic farming, cheese making, milking goats and building bikes on the first day, and ended the day at campsites we set up for them, complete with a cowboy singing songs by the campfire and s'mores for them. The second day they sailed boats on Lake Geneva, learned some improv and had a celebratory dinner.

Professional case managers who focus on seniors gathered for their annual meeting and looked to CEI to provide an activity that would energy participants and help create networking opportunities. CEI' Improve Workshop, facilitated by Brendan Sullivan, was just the right program as it got participants out of their seats, thinking creatively and highlighting key business topics through improvisational games and challenges.

Team Development Challenge with Planks Initiative

Client wanted to create a comfort zone among operational leaders and learn to build a comfortable and trusting environment. CEI responded with our Planks initiative to help participants communicate more openly and learn from each other -- hoping to overcome varying management styles and cultural difference.

Synopsis:
The principal of St. Joseph Catholic School was looking for a light, engaging, practical program to emphasize team building and collaboration, with a positive message for her team of approximately a dozen teachers. One of CEI's lead facilitators Brendon Sullivan helped design and lead an experiential program tying good collaborative skills to the lessons and exercises of improvisational theater. Everyone participated, laughed and realized that the only way they could succeed was to work together.

CEI focused on team concepts such as leadership, role definition, conflict resolution and communication through this experiential-based activity. Led by our skilled facilitators, the team experienced a variety of challenges selected to bring about reflection, discussion, and most importantly, applying the concepts learned back to their workplace.

Thomas Rides Again

Location: Grand Geneva Resort

Synopsis:
Customized a teaming activity for 80 USG financial managers that fully mimicked USG's supply chain. In a three hour period teams had to complete six unique challenges to transport "gypsum" (in this case marbles) from the mine in Nova Scotia to the processing plant in the United States. Challenges included building a boat to transport the "gypsum" on water and a train to transport it via land. A debrief on team processes and communications closed this event.

Insights Workshop

Synopsis:
Designed and executed an team workshop in which association management professionals completed an on-line Insights work styles evaluator prior to the workshop and the results were interweaved within the framework of the program. A group discussion and debrief were important elements for participants to contribute to their learning experience.

The Puzzler

Participants saw the bigger picture during this puzzling activity. Each team was given a 75-piece puzzle to solve as a team. Then, the teams put all of their puzzles into a larger picture.
