In a more relaxed, reception-style environment teams are given the chance to truly make a difference. This event allows attendees to show their support for each other and for members of the U.S. Armed Forces. Guests work together to assemble care packages and write individual thoughts and notes of encouragement to our military personnel overseas.
Our “4-Star General” (emcee) and guests are welcomed to the event by musical fanfare and presented with their goal of the event – to truly make a difference. A variety of items such as board games, snacks, toiletries, and other essentials are ready to be wrapped and packed into care packages. Plain white paper, markers and stickers are available for guests to create custom wrapping paper to brighten up their gift. Stationary is also on hand to write individual thoughts and notes of encouragement to the service men and women who receive the package. With the guidance of the USO of Illinois, the care packages are to be sent to members of the military currently serving overseas.
Pending availability, a USO of Illinois Representative or service member may also be on hand to give thanks and accept the packages. Imagine how appreciative our military will be!
